Frequently Asked Questions
What is the minimum age?
- The minimum age for supervised sessions is 6 years old.
- For unsupervised sessions, there is no minimum age, but a parent or guardian must first pass the competency test. Please speak to a member of our team for details.
Can I just turn up and climb?
Yes — if you are a competent climber aged 18+. You will need to demonstrate essential rope skills to be signed off as a competent climber. Competent adults may supervise up to two novice climbers or children.
No — if you are not an experienced climber. We offer a range of supervised sessions to help you get started, including private tuition and our adult social climbing club.
Children and minors can only climb when supervised by a competent adult climber or a member of our staff.
Do you provide birthday parties?
We do not currently offer dedicated birthday party packages. However, you can book up to 6 children into our Kids’ Clubs or supervised climbing sessions.
Is it Clip & Climb?
No. We are qualified professional rock‑climbing instructors offering rope‑climbing courses, coaching, and skills development for adults and children. Although we use equipment similar to Clip & Climb, we teach traditional rope climbing, which is why we operate separately from Clip & Climb.
Do you have bouldering?
Not at the moment. However, you can still climb without a partner using our 7 auto‑belay devices.
Do you have auto‑belays?
Yes — we currently have 7 automatic belay devices available.
How do I start climbing?
The best way to begin is to try a session with no commitment. We recommend starting with a 30 minutes Climbing Session to see if climbing is right for you.
What should I wear?
- Comfortable, non‑restrictive sports clothing. No skirts or dresses.
- Bring comfortable shoes — for your first session, shoes with rigid soles work best. Open‑toe or open‑heel footwear is not allowed.
- Climbing shoes are available to hire.
- Remove all jewellery and tie up long hair.
What climbing level is required for your courses?
We offer courses for all levels, from complete beginners to advanced climbers.
Do I need to buy climbing gear to start?
No. We provide all essential equipment for supervised sessions, and we can hire equipment for unsupervised climbers.
Do I need to be strong or very fit?
No — an average fitness level is enough. Upper‑body strength is one of the biggest myths about climbing. Good technique matters far more than raw strength.
